Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) Thermoformed Drill Press Cover

This TOP thermoformed drill press cover was manufactured using durable Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) and cost-effective composite-based tooling. Arrowhead selected TPO for its excellent formability and outstanding impact resistance, which are retained in both high and low temperature environments. This makes it an ideal material choice for applications exposed to harsh climate conditions or requiring dependable performance during shipping and long-term use.

By utilizing composite-based mold materials, Arrowhead was able to offer our customer an affordable tooling solution—perfect for low-volume production runs where the cost of aluminum or steel tooling would be excessive. The flexible nature of composite tooling allows for quick modifications and shorter lead times, making it a great match for TPO thermoforming applications.

For this project, the TOP thermoformed drill press cover delivered a significant improvement in part durability, particularly during international shipments in cold climates. The use of TPO effectively reduced the occurrence of cracking or impact-related failures that the customer had previously experienced with other materials.

TPO sheet is widely available in various standard thicknesses, colors, and surface textures. It can also be custom produced to meet specific aesthetic or functional requirements. Whether you’re looking for a tough, weather-resistant part or a highly formable material for complex geometries, a TOP thermoformed drill press cover offers a proven solution.

Arrowhead’s experience in forming TPO and working with custom tooling allows us to develop reliable, production-ready parts that meet exacting customer expectations—on time and within budget.
