Piqua, Ohio
Arrowhead’s Piqua, Ohio Composite Molding Plant specializes in five primary fiberglass and composite manufacturing processes: Low Tonnage Compression Molding, Open Molding, Closed Molding utilizing both RTM Lite and Structural Resin Transfer Molding (SRTM), and Squish Molding. Formerly known as Retterbush Fiberglass, this facility combines decades of composite manufacturing experience with Arrowhead’s commitment to quality, engineering support, and customer service.
Typical production volumes range from 100 to 20,000 parts per year. In addition to fiberglass molding, the Piqua facility provides a wide range of value-added manufacturing services including fiberglass fabrication, bonding, assembly, post-mold finishing, CAD modeling, precision measurement using a FARO Arm, laser scanning, reverse engineering, tooling modification, expedited lead times, and CNC trimming. Our experienced team works with a variety of core materials including balsa wood, PVC foam, urethane foam, and kraft honeycomb. Parts can be supplied with a finished gel coat surface, sanding gel coat for customer painting, or a complete automotive-quality painted finish.

Composite Manufacturing Processes
Low Tonnage Compression Molding
An ideal process for producing durable composite components in lower production volumes. Low tonnage compression molding delivers consistent part quality, excellent surface finishes, and reduced tooling costs for many industrial and commercial applications.
Open Molding
Open molding, including spray-up and hand lay-up processes, provides exceptional flexibility for large, complex, or lower-volume fiberglass parts. This process is well suited for custom products requiring strength, durability, and design flexibility.
Closed Molding (RTM Lite & SRTM)
Closed molding processes such as RTM Lite and Structural Resin Transfer Molding (SRTM) produce high-strength composite parts with excellent dimensional accuracy, consistent wall thickness, and high-quality finished surfaces while minimizing material waste.
Squish Molding
Squish molding combines many of the benefits of open and closed molding processes, producing fiberglass components with improved consistency, controlled resin distribution, and excellent cosmetic finishes while remaining cost-effective for medium-volume production.
Whether you need prototype development, replacement parts, or ongoing production of fiberglass components, Arrowhead’s Piqua facility offers the manufacturing expertise, engineering support, and production capabilities to bring your project from concept to completion.
Let’s Talk About Whether SRTM is Right for Your Part
Silicone membrane resin transfer molding (SRTM) offers a clean, consistent way to produce fiberglass parts with less mess and more repeatability. At Arrowhead, we can help you determine whether SRTM or another fiberglass molding process is the best fit based on your part geometry, production volume, and finish requirements.
We also offer full trimming and finishing support with 5-axis CNC trimming to bring your part from mold to final spec.
